Why should I choose The Dating Scene?
The Dating Scene offers an alternative to online dating by creating fun, cool ways to meet, mingle and match with other local singles.
We DO NOT charge you a membership fee. We DO NOT sign you up with an online dating profile account and we DO NOT charge based on your age profile.
We do however offer you the opportunity to attend fun events in a safe and relaxing environment where you will meet like-minded people looking for friendship, fun and maybe more.

How strict are the age ranges?
The age ranges are there as most of our clients only date within these age groups. The Dating Scene does not recommend that you sign up for an event if you fall outside the specified age range of the event. The Dating Scene caters for events for all age groups.

How do The Dating Scene events work?
For full information on our events, please see our Events Page. Prior to your scheduled event, you will receive an email with guidelines and information on where to go on the night.
Upon arrival at the event, you will be greeted by a host who will register your attendance and provide you a numbered name card and Event Form which should be returned at the end of the evening to your host to determine your matches.

Will I get a match?
The Dating Scene is not a matchmaking service therefore we cannot guarantee our clients a specific ‘match’ on the night.  Our aim is for you to meet a group of fun single people in a relaxing environment who are looking for friendship, fun and the chance of love.

How do I know if I have a match?
The Dating Scene will email you shortly after the event advising you of any dating or friendship matches and will offer you the opportunity to contact your match privately.

Do you arrange same sex events?
Yes. The Dating Scene caters for same sex meetings. Events are arranged based on the interests of our clients.  If you would like to see more same sex events, please register your interest on our homepage or drop us an email.

What should I wear?
Anything you like! There is no dress code on a first date however we do recommend that you dress to impress. After all, you want to make a good first impression.

What forms of payment do you accept?
Currently our only method for accepting payment is through PayPal. Customers can pay using their debit/credit card and NO MEMBERSHIP of PayPal is required.

Can I pay at the door?
Unfortunately all of our events must be paid for up front. If an event has not sold out, please email or telephone us and we can potentially arrange a place for you on the day.

If an event is sold out, can I register for the Wait List?
You can register for the waiting list by sending us an email at

We will contact you by email or telephone to advise if a space becomes available.

What if I have to cancel?
A full refund shall be provided if you cancel a full 72 hours before the event. Cancellations must be sent by email.  Cancellations less than 72 hours or a no show on the day will not be refunded.
